Meghan’s work with immigrants began when she was a high school student at St. Mary’s Academy in downtown Portland. After school, Meghan volunteered at Immigration Counseling Service. Later, her volunteer work turned into a full-time position as an office assistant. During college, Meghan was creator and editor of Evolve, a social justice newspaper devoted to under-represented groups, which included many articles focusing on immigration in the United States.

Meghan completed her bachelor’s degree in Social Justice, with a minor in Women’s Studies, at Gonzaga University in 2003.

Meghan lived and studied for one year in Florence, Italy, which ignited her desire to see the world. In 2005, Meghan moved to Taichung, Taiwan where she taught English for two years. Meghan then continued to instruct English in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam for another year. After completing her teaching contract and traveling throughout Southeast Asia, Meghan returned to immigration law by joining us at NELSON | SMITH, LLP, and is overjoyed to continue her work in this field.
